"Where the Big Boats Float" 9-'22 Sold at Gallery4

  References from several photos i took in the 90's in California.  Tried to be really "loose" but that usually fails.  photo is pale compared to the painting.   Kinda like the results, tho.

 I've been thinking about the theme wall subjects for this summer at Gallery4.  "Black and White and everything in between" is one.  i drew the circle by setting my coffee cup on the canvas and wha la.. off i went.   A bit different technique than the last couple of paintings

 I had daisy on my mind but it could be a sunflower. 

 

"Assessing the Damage"

 I used a photo that was posted on a FB site from my home town, as reference for this. I'd love to know who took the original photo and what year it was.  I'm thinking in the 50's or 60's.  I knew these guys way back when.  I so loved their stance, clothing, hats.  After i put the background in, it kinda looked like they were insurance adjustors.  I really love painting folks, as i've said before.
