Peace, Please 7-23-22 sold this at gallery4 today to a sweet couple from Wyoming ..

I've been thinking about the theme wall subjects for this summer at Gallery4.  "Black and White and everything in between" is one.  i drew the circle by setting my coffee cup on the canvas and wha la.. off i went.   A bit different technique than the last couple of paintings

I had daisy on my mind but it could be a sunflower.

"Assessing the Damage"

I used a photo that was posted on a FB site from my home town, as reference for this. I'd love to know who took the original photo and what year it was.  I'm thinking in the 50's or 60's.  I knew these guys way back when.  I so loved their stance, clothing, hats.  After i put the background in, it kinda looked like they were insurance adjustors.  I really love painting folks, as i've said before.

So, Who's Your Feather Dresser?? titled changed to "Crow Envy" donated

I did this acrylic painting to enter into the Spirit Room Crow Show this year.  They hold this show  every other year and it is always fun plus interesting 'cause crows are almost as intelligent as mankind, don't ya' know.

quiet @ da lake sold at CAAC show "22

This painting is impossible to photograph.  I had painted background and spritzed it and let it run.. I liked the look of it but it needed "subject matter", don't ya' know..   original is so much more colorful.   it was fun/stressy to paint.

Mineral Moo Cow 5-22 Sold at Gallery4

Friend, Dave, gave me a sheet of "mineral" paper along with his christmas card. It is actually made from rocks or stones.  It feels like suede, kinda, and it is transparent. I could trace this image from my sketch book.. ( I have painted this moo cow several times}.  It felt like Yupo paper when painting on it.

Gnome, alone

Or i could call this one "high on mushroom"  ..  The photo is paler than the painting.  Again, this was so fun to paint.  My son, Matt, suggested i paint a gnome riding a bison..   Don't think so........

Lunch Crowd

1-10-24  I really think this painting needed some help.  I added my own color mixture to ceiling and floor.  Then realized i had never painted legs on the tables.  were they floating??    T'is better..

i used the feeling of a restaurant in Colorado.  I always liked this photo with those weird red chairs.  I used it as reference altho there is not much likeness, maybe the chairs and the lights ..  i put one customer there 'cause the restaurant business is hurting 'cause this damned pandemic.

I faintly painted "Juano's" in the window, cause that was our favorite restaurant of all time...........
