 matching frames, sorta,  I'm anxious to hang these as a group at G4 for month of Feb.  we'll see how that works for me.   ha..  

Door View 5-6-25 SOLD at G4

 This painting is to fit in the really old 9x12 barn wood frame .  the color of the walls closely matches the color of the frame..  Gee, i love the feeling of this one..   

Deck View. 10-26 new title "Red Sails in the Sunset"

 I "found" 2 more old old barn wood frames in my possession ..  wish i could remember where i got them or if some one made them.  they are from the 70's.  i painted this one to fit in the 8x10 frame.  i have the view theme going ..    

10-26  added some more "color" to this.  plus the sail boat.  and changed name to an old song title I loved many years ago.  

Talked to my youngest bro and he told me that the barn wood frames were made by our uncle Bill Geisen and that he has a couple of them, as well.  mystery solved.  Thanks Uncle Bill, i'm sure they were free..

 I love these 8x8 canvas boards..  I covered my "Sail Away" painting with this.  I had read a bio of an artist that said his girl friend fried an egg everyday and would paint it.  my first thought was HE should be cooking and she should be painting..  that's how my brain works. 

 ANYWAY, i got an air fryer for christmas and am doing hash browns in it..  topping them with easy-over eggs.. wah la..

6-11-25  reworked this painting a bit.  mostly changed color of the shed.  and made the lady look "not so pissed.."  love the chickens. photo color is not true.  ugh 

This is how i spent my pre-christmas prep time.  I had painted this lady in the 80's i remember, cause it was one my first Acrylic paintings.  Well, not sure why i did it again altho the background is completely different.  In fact the fence is done by scrapping wet paint off with a palette knife.  it worked.

I did this in Watercolor recently using a photo from the 90's for reference. . 

I did NOT use AI, did NOT use computer aids, did NOT use a projector, did NOT use tracing paper, 

 I DO know how to draw " FREE HAND".  I know that is an old term in the art world. 

Any way, I love it.

I really stretched my watercolor tactics on these.  reference was a photo i took (in the 90's)  of Carl's flowers.   Painted using Cad Red, Carmine and Gamboge pigment for the lilies.  decided to leave the background white ..background on photo was really dark, almost black..   ugh

8-25  I cropped and reframed this without using glass. I applied Dorland Wax Medium to the image.  it protects the pigment and paper.  Used one of my FFs (you know, free frames)
