Mellow Cello Music SOLD

I went to the Symphony last week and while enjoying the music i noticed that all the musicians wear "black".. Each black had a different hue or color, I found that interesting and, of course, it stayed in my mind.. I love the shape and color of the cello so .. wah, lah, i make up the strange little folks doing their music thing.  I love this Watercolor
SOLD @ Edgewood Vista 5-14

Prairie Road SOLD

This is a different genre of painting for me.  I saw a photo of a grove of trees blowing in the wind and it brought back memories of a prairie road that ran beside our childhood farm.  I am sure the trees are gone now and this depicts the demise of another memory of my younger days "on the farm"... It is watercolor on watercolor board with a rough finish that can be wiped off, if so desired....

"Gracie of a different color" sold @gallery 4

I had sketched my daughter's cat a couple of years ago and always planned to paint her.  This paper had some shapes on it from a workshop that i had tried to wash off.  Being the tight-a-- that i am (sometimes) i wanted to use the paper and i kinda like how it helped with the colors.. Sorry, Gracie, I know you are black and white, but what fun is that???

"Listen & Learn"

I attended Jan Flom's 2nd workshop a couple of weeks ago.  "Mix and Mingle" (love the title) it was called.  Apply pigment and mop it around was the jest of it. which is opposite to small amt of color and dabbing.. i wonder who does that???  I had sketched these ladies and then watercolored them on paper that was coated with gesso.. easier to "mop" I thought.. it was fun..  i may try it on plain w/c paper.
For some reason the blog people have changed a lot of stuff..  i hate it.. it took me all day to get this photo moved over here.........

not crazy about 'change'

Seems Google blogs have changed a few things.. it took me several days to figure out how to post my work..  had to download Picasa and mess around to get my photos in a web album or whatever... along with the download, came games and other stuff i didn't want... just like the goverment:: -- passing laws & stuff, that have other laws, etc, attached to it.........

love remembered ( donated )

This is a commission i was asked to do for the Alzheimer's Association.  will post more about it later.

Wayne & Curt in the 50's (commission )

I just finished this watercolor commission for our neighbor, Curt, of a couple of handsome dudes, for sure..  the reference photo only had a small portion of the car ( a 1937 Ford) so some research had to be done..
In the 50's, the music was great, the cars were wonderful and the men knew how to dress... .. that is a fact, according to Judi..
