Winter parking ( demo done @ cormorant show ) Donated to Village

I had sketched this truck and house before I got to the show and painted the sky and truck, while visiting with interested art patrons.  When I got home and "looked" @ it..it turned into a winter scene.. it's done in watercolor. .

This acrylic painting was a whim, sky color on the bottom? Pallette knife scrapping thru the middle? Then hung out the laundry! ! What fun I had!!

"DINE" or "eat" Wedding gift

I've wanted to paint an outdoor cafe scene for a long time.  I've looked at hundreds of them in my hundreds of art magazines.. but made up my own street and folks. Love the waiters w their bow ties.

Bird condos Gifted to Brita

Just had to paint Carl's birdhouses that I have hung on the back of the house..I sketched them in the morning sun..I didn't put in the bricks, mostly because I enjoy painting old siding better.. each one has a story, of course .

"Waiting for spring in Alaska " Donated to Pekin Auction..

As usual, after a workshop, I try to redo or "save" a work..this is the only one out of 5 that was a possibility.  It was a value study on a 1/2 sheet (huge) done with Payne's Grey. I tore it in half and added a lot of color. Reference photo, I took in AK, was of  this big boat deserted in the wilderness.. I added what may be ice or water to the foreground..

The ice cream lady Gifted

I painted this s couple of days b/4 the workshop. Tom, the instructor, would clutch his heart if he saw how "tightly" it is painted.. oh well.  I used a photo I took of my grandson, owen, and his friend, Nathan, ordering ice cream from this unique European lady in Sisters, oregon. . I loved the light and  anticipation on their sweet faces.

Red river watercolor society workshop

Just finished a week long workshop with
Tom Francesconi as our instructor. . It was so much fun. Great bunch of artist friends, of course, my best one, Bobbie,  stayed with me.
My paintings turned out quite terrible. Sketches weren't too bad, but my pigment /water ratio was way off...  Tom had a great sense of humor and wonderful demos..
