Green is the Chair 8-13-24 Sold at G4

 My small bird paintings have not flown out into the world..  i painted this over Dad Bird.  Chair is really green.  in fact, i made scrambled eggs for lunch today and there was a green speck in it.. Spinach?? no.  Broccoli?  no, no.  It was a bit of sap green acrylic from under my fingernails..   

Gnome with grass and weeds 6-25 Sold at G4

 

this is weird...  i painted this gnome a couple of years ago, during my gnome period..  Showed it around in shows, and at G4..   ANYWAY, today i added the grass and the weed.  Since he already had the mushroom..   He is probably high.   teehee.  

Casino Gals with new frame

 Brought this favorite watercolor out of hiding .. the frame was white and kinda ugly.  I mixed up some acrylic to match some of the greens in the painting and went for it.  .  I know i have always insisted that the frame doesn't count in the scheme of things, but this was fun. 

Nova Scotia-esque

Our theme for Feb at G4 is Bucket List.  Since my bucket list has a hole in the bottom, i chose Nova Scotia because it's been on Carl and my list forever and we didn't get there.  i googled a lot of paintings and photos of NS and sketched some of the buildings and boats that apparently are in Peggy's Cove.  Love the primary colors.  
 photo isn't very good 'cause i framed it b/4 i took the photo..   FORGETFUL is the word of the day..  

Storm Clouds Pending Sold at BAGA, Bismarck

 Another square foot entry for Bismarck Show in May. Used a couple of my cloud photos as reference.  I had used the 1/2 barn idea before.  this is acrylic and kinda startling.   

Off the grid 1-22-24 Changed to "Outside Looking In"

9-1-24  I never liked the window in this painting. I messed with it this weekend and still not sure if it tells a story.  It is irritating that the photos always look different, when nothing else was changed.  oh well. except the cup turned blue.

 Acrylic painting for the square foot show in Bismarck this spring.  what can i say?  used a photo i took in Alaska many years ago.  no internet there, then..  

    Photo is quite pale.  too cold to go outside to retake photo..  BRR

Dating: Then and Now 1-20-26 Title changed to "Tats, Cells & Manners"

 

Theme next month is "Trending" (not my fave word) so I added tats to the dude.  

  

12-24-24 .. I filled in the background on this. It helped a little. unsure of adding anything else to tell the story.  

I so enjoy painting this sort of work..   The "then" couple are my parents ( i used an old B&W photo of them for reference) going on a date.  The young "now" couple is from a sketch i did in my sketch book, thinking of a couple i saw on the street corner. I drew them too far apart to make it real (he had his hand on her buttocks, of course)
